a whole new world

I was at a church planter conference earlier this week.

I like to people watch.

as the story goes… I was standing in the lobby noticing all the different kinds of people walking around, networking with each other, telling about their churches and I noticed a trend.

wait… i Digress…

Do you remember when you were little (or even now) all the old fashioned Pastors in their neatly pressed suits driving their big Lincolns and Cadillacs? Or the preachers with the real brightly colored suits and LOUD ties? It’s a stereotype!

Nowadays… we have a new stereotype among church planters… It’s called Buckle. I mean “WOW” I have never seen so many ripped (nealty pressed) jeans, glittery button down shirts with graphics and pointy shoes in one place. Did I mention the awesome hair. Now… this is one area that I have a lot of envy. The faux-hawks were as abundant as the iPhones! And what is it with the new worship leader hair cut? They all had this weird spiky thing going on in the back with a flat ironed piece covering up one side of their face.

As I close this rant, I want to make perfectly clear that I am not making fun of anyone. I am simply stating that some things never change.

There are old stereotypes and new ones.
