summer in the city

It’s Hot! No really… it’s blazing down here. I walked about 3 blocks downtown today and I was sweating as usual. Now I know why everybody moves so slow down here… they’re all dehydrated and about to pass out! If only I were Bear Grylles I could’ve found water and built a shelter whilst eating some termites for protein… I love this city but if it continues to get this warm, I will not be leaving the air conditioned confines of my house!

With all that out of the way, Doug and I had a lot of great meetings this week and it was awesome getting to spend time with him, shelly & the kids. One thing we did today was look at a possible meeting place. It is the kind of place that we have dreamed of getting. It would be perfect for the church and would allow a great amount of outreach in the community. There are quite a few obstacles that would allow it from happening so I am not getting my hopes up.

What am I saying! Yes… I am getting my hopes up. The only way we are not getting this place is if God has other plans in store for us. Better plans, I mean. Yes, it would be a lot of money, a lot of work and a lot of stress. But God owns everything and if He wants it to happen it will! We are willing to march all night if we have too… That’s all I am going to say about that!

Doug and I also visited Bible Baptist’s College ministry tonight lead by my friend Jeremy. It was very cool. My new friend Darrin talked a little bit about his journey with God. We both enjoyed the way Jeremy presents the message and Richard sounded great as usual. I am so thankful that God has allowed me to meet these new (authentic) people.

Did I mention that I haven’t stopped sweating in like 3 days!
